There’s no shortage of diet plans, workout programs, or health advice online. The problem isn’t that women don’t have enough information—it’s that they have too much, and much of it is conflicting.
At Intentional Wellness, we do things differently.
Instead of handing you another meal plan or asking you to rely on willpower, I teach you how your body actually works. Together, we'll simplify nutrition, strength training, hormones, sleep, and lifestyle habits so you can make confident decisions without constantly second-guessing yourself.
This isn't about perfection.
It's about building a strong, healthy body that supports the life you want to live.
Because when you understand why, healthy choices become simpler, consistency becomes easier, and lasting results become possible.
My goal isn't just to help you lose weight.
My goal is to help you gain the knowledge and confidence to care for your health for the rest of your life.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
First, I want you to know you're not alone. Many of the women I work with have tried countless diets, workout programs, and quick fixes before finding Intentional Wellness.
The difference isn't that this program has a secret formula. It's that we focus on understanding your body instead of fighting against it.
Rather than handing you another meal plan or asking you to rely on willpower, I'll teach you why your body responds the way it does. Together, we'll build simple, sustainable habits that fit your life—so you can stop starting over and start making confident decisions about your health.
This isn't about being perfect.
It's about finally having a plan that makes sense.

Can improving my sleep help me lose weight?
It might surprise you, but sleep is one of the most overlooked pieces of long-term health and weight management.
When you don't get enough quality sleep, your body produces more of the hormones that increase hunger and cravings while decreasing the hormones that help you feel full. Poor sleep can also make it harder to manage blood sugar, increase stress hormones like cortisol, reduce your motivation to exercise, and slow your recovery from workouts.
Does that mean sleeping more will magically make the weight fall off? No.
But getting consistent, quality sleep makes it much easier to make healthy choices, train effectively, regulate your appetite, and stay consistent with the habits that lead to lasting results.
I like to think of sleep as the foundation. When your sleep improves, everything else becomes a little easier.

Why should women lift weights?
Strength training is about so much more than building muscle or changing how you look. It's one of the most powerful things you can do for your long-term health.
As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass, bone density, and metabolic health. Strength training helps preserve and build muscle, supports healthy bones, improves insulin sensitivity, boosts energy, and makes everyday activities easier. It can also improve mood, confidence, sleep, balance, and overall quality of life.
I like to think of muscle as your retirement account for health. The more you invest in it today, the greater the return you'll experience in the years to come.
You don't have to spend hours in the gym or lift heavy weights to benefit. Consistent strength training—done a few times each week—is enough to help build a stronger, healthier, more resilient body.

How do I know if it's hormones or my lifestyle?
The truth is, it's often a combination of both.
Hormones absolutely influence how you feel. They affect your energy, sleep, hunger, mood, muscle mass, and where your body stores fat. But hormones don't work in isolation—they're constantly interacting with your daily habits.
Nutrition, strength training, sleep, stress, and physical activity all influence your hormonal health, just as hormones influence how your body responds to those habits.
That's why I don't believe in blaming everything on hormones—or ignoring them altogether.
If you're experiencing significant changes like unexplained weight gain, persistent fatigue, irregular periods, hot flashes, or other concerning symptoms, it's important to have a conversation with your healthcare provider and consider appropriate lab work when indicated.
At the same time, focusing on the fundamentals—building muscle, eating enough protein and fiber, prioritizing sleep, managing stress, and staying active—creates a strong foundation that supports your health regardless of where you are in life.
Meet Sam
Hi, I'm Sam—a board-certified Physician Assistant (PA-C), strength coach, and mom of three who is passionate about helping women understand their bodies so they can build strength, improve their health, and feel like themselves again.
I earned my bachelor's degree in Physiology & Developmental Biology, worked in an Obesity & Metabolism Research Lab, and went on to become a Physician Assistant. Today, I combine my clinical experience with evidence-based nutrition, strength training, and hormone education to help women cut through the confusion and build healthy habits that last.
I believe lasting health starts with understanding why. When you understand how your body works, you can stop chasing quick fixes, make confident decisions, and create habits that support your health for years to come.
I'm so glad you're here.
